MITCHENER TAKES THE CHALLENGE CUP!

Club veteran organiser, Cyril Mitchener, claimed a sensational win over Panos Stemitsiotis in the final of the Club's fourth, and last, 'major' of the season.

Taking the lead after only two minutes, the Salisbury player then defended stoutly against the talented Greek for a further 28 minutes to become the fourth different player to claim a title this year.  This fact alone underlines the competitiveness of the current Wiltshire set up.

After a shock second round exit at the hands of Cyril, Portsmouth's Tony Wall went on to take the 'B' Cup but only on shots after a desperately close fought game with Andy Dawkins.

Matthew Wall had the misfortune to be drawn against Panos in an early round of the major competition but drew some satisfaction in claiming the 'C' Cup (no you haven't stumbled across a bra manufacturer's site!) in a 1-0 win over Rory Arbab-Gazvini.
